Online Gradebook Tips

Go to http://ps.dvusd.org to monitor student grades. Although grades change regularly, it isn't necessary to check daily. Once every other week should suffice. Look at the work as it comes home for specific information.

MI:the assignment should've been handed in, but is missing. MI scores are 0% and damage averages tremendously.

( ): some aspect of the work may still be in progress, not considered late or missing.

Ab (absent) is changed to MI when the work is past due.

Redo and inc. (incomplete): incomplete or unacceptable work that needs to be improved before I will accept it.

If you see the same assignment recorded twice, it indicates your child was allowed to redo work and I took a second grade on it. This results in an averaged grade for both attempts. Obviously we need to stress the importance of doing well the first time since usually the work is submitted and graded once. Do not ask your child to hand in work for a second grade unless I've indicated it is an option.

Certainly, grades will fluctuate through future efforts; we all have strengths and weaknesses, good days and off days.
