Truly, our children are our future. As the world rapidly advances intellectually and technologically, I feel one of the most important aspects of teaching is to help your child develop a love for the quest for knowledge while becoming independent and confident.

Since joining Las Brisas in 1997, I've taught second, third, and fourth grades. My teaching experience also includes six years teaching third grade in the Madison Elementary District, and five years teaching preschool/Early Childhood in the Washington School District and through our church.

During stay-at-home intervals from teaching to focus on being a mom, I was able to be a docent for children's author/illustrator exhibits and helped develop a summer reading program for at-risk children for the Phoenix Public Libary and RIF (Reading Is Fundamental). The enjoyment of working with these programs lead me back to the classroom.

My oldest is now on his own, working in Tucson, while my daughter is finishing college. Interestingly, both have polar opposite learning styles and strengths. This was a challenge, but they both found their niches, just as your child will.

Teaching is an awesome undertaking. I will do my best to inspire your child to become a lifelong learner.
